Thanks-Giving and Give-Away Ceremony with Temescal
It is the November season of giving thanks- thanks for all that has come to us through the beauty of summer and the abundance of harvest season as we begin to “tuck in” for the winter.
As a gesture of our gratitude to this animated world and all its wonder, we will do a giveaway at the sweat lodge in the First Nations/Native style. Please bring an item or two that you have, perhaps, made or cherished and are ready to pass forward as a gesture of thanks-giving. The purpose of the Give-Away is sharing and provides the opportunity for us to release possessions and let go of the ideas of importance connected to possessions. The Give-Away is never used to get rid of belongings that are no longer functional or are “cast-off” items. This is not obligatory giving; nor is it giving with the expectation for something in return. It is a way of releasing your spirit from attachment to meaningful objects so that your heart and soul will be filled by the act of giving, and you will be open to future abundance.
We will also be creating ceremony in veneration for our ancestors, so please bring a photograph of an ancestor (or two) that you’d really love to call in. We’ll share ancestral stories if time is provided. (Because we’ll be placing these photos on the altar, please wrap them in plastic if you worried about the weather…)

If you would like to spend the night here, we always have room. Just let me know in advance.
Drum Circle
Bring an instrument or borrow one of ours and come feel the rhythm, music, song and vibration of our communal hearts. Place: Wayfarer’s Chapel, 182 Wayfarer Lane, Dillard, GA.
Farm to Table Fiesta
Former Tiger Mountain Vineyards vintner, Lisa Ezzard, and local chef and artist, Maria Loveless, will be hosting a wine pairing dinner in celebration of local foods and wines. You’ll have some blindfold tastings and learn about pairing, experiencing delightful surprises to the palate while enjoying music by local musicians, Marie Dunkle and Company.
Whispers of the Earth: Reading, Writing, and Conversing About Nature and the Creative Spirit
In this book club we will read books that get us reflecting more deeply about our relationship with life on Earth, particularly about the natural world and how it mirrors our own spirit within. There will be an optional writing component, allowing our ideas to evolve as we explore the interconnectedness of nature and the creative spirit.
In addition to lively discussion, we’ll be offering wine and light refreshments to keep the conversation flowing. Participants will also receive handouts featuring journaling pages and creative prompts to inspire short nonfiction reflections and poetic responses. Together, we’ll explore the world around us through the lens of literature—engaging with timeless themes and universal ideas in a safe space for shared insight and meaningful dialogue.
